This is a NCAA Certified Event.

BEGINNING FALL 2010 WOMEN'S TEAMS MUST COMPLY WITH ADJOINING STATE RULE In April 2010, legislation was adopted that would require women's teams participating in a NCAA-certified event to meet the same residency restrictions that have applied to the men's teams since 2005. The effective date of the legislation is September 1, 2010. In that regard, fall 2010 events will be required to apply the legislation when allowing teams to participate in those events. This means that all teams participating in NCAA-certified fall events must be made up of individuals that reside either within the same state as the team's official address or within a geographically adjoining state AND with not more than three prospects from adjoining states participating on any one team.

We annually have over 100 teams ~ as well as over 200 college coaches ~ attend this event.

There will be pools according to your teams ability.

All individuals that engage in coaching activities at a NCAA Certified Event must be approved prior to participation through the NCAA Coaches Approval Program (link at www.bluechipbasketball.com - Main Menu - NCAA Links)

No coach band will be given to any who do not obtain this approval and provide proof.

NCAA mandates strict enforcement of all event operators. The participation of a single unapproved coach will render the event ineligible for certification the following year.

The Big Apple Challenge was an excellent tournament for the National team this past weekend. We had a great start on Saturday, winning the first game by 30 points and coming from behind in the second game (after being down by 12 w/about six minutes to go) to win by 1 point on a shot by Christina with about 3 seconds left. Sunday was a little tougher for us - we lost our 1st game by 3 in OT to a 15U Nike Elite team out of NJ and we lost our 2nd game by 2 to a team from Westchester after Raeann's 3-point attempt at the buzzer rimmed out. The positive aspects of this past weekend were that we played .500 against national level competition, we had a chance to win every game, we faced excellent competion and played extremely well, and most importantly, we are getting better and learning how important it is to do the little things throughout the course of the game to be successful.
